C.A.R.E.S (Children Achieving Radical Education Success)
and their Community Partners are raising funds to help homeless students in St. Lucie County. Purchase your tickets to win 1 of 3 playhouses built by our sponsors: St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity, The Porch Factory and Homecrete Homes.
C.A.R.E.S of St. Lucie County is a 501C3 non profit that helps the more than 1,300 St. Lucie Public Schools students that are registered as homeless for the 2018-2019 school year. These students lack stable, adequate, and regular nighttime residences yet they are still expected to attend school and perform on a level with their peers who have much less to worry about at home. The McKinney-Vento Act of 1987 protects their educational rights but a little extra is needed to provide them with the tools to succeed in school.
